“Ahd Allah: Quran’s Covenants and Its Legal Architecture” is a book that presents a unique academic project conceived on a grand scale. It presents an entirely different way of looking at the obligations arising from the covenants contained in the Qur’an. Concealed in the powerful verses of the Qur’an is an outline of a vast legal architecture that is visible for those who ponder over these verses. This architecture contains an entire body of sub-covenants flowing from the main covenant that are addressed to all members of humanity. Through this vast array of covenants “Allah creates a personal and direct contractual relationship, free from intervention of any kind, with His creation.” It is a contractual relationship that is managed and administered by Allah Himself. Describing the unique features of this work will only amount to repetition. Further, the pleasure to be derived from reading the book cannot be conveyed through a description of these features Coming back to the content of the present work, we find the whole body of sub-covenants elaborated in Part I to be very enlightening. The elaboration carries within it a novel approach that we have not found in other texts that we have come across."

"The basic theme of the work - "Qur'an's covenants" - is fascinating. The learned author has taken great pains in collecting, ordering and presenting the various related verses and, thus, developing a wonderful thesis. Being a fine lawyer and jurist, he was better placed for doing this. The way he derives these rules and principles is simply brilliant."

"The book tries to explain the covenant paradigm of the Quran, a theme rarely taken up by the scholars. Your pioneering work will Insha Allah lead to further academic studies on the subject I am also pleased to know about the Qur'anic Covenant and Research Center. I extend my fullest support in whatever humble way I can."

"When I first read the manuscript I was astonished at the unique insight he had stumbled upon - he essentially, through the eyes of a legal expert, went through the Quran as if it was a contract being reviewed. He provided meaningful insight in the means of highlighting the legal architecture of the Quran. The work was unique in that if you wanted to explain the Quran to a lawyer in legal minology it was a perfect fit - 𝒅𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒉 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒂𝒘𝒚𝒆𝒓𝒔!"

"Soofi emphasizes Islam's commitment to international relations for global peace through his analysis of the covenant to uphold treaty obligations, asserting that adherence to these instruments is both a diplomatic necessity as well as a spiritual obligation within Islamic thought. This perspective promotes trust and reliability within the community, while embedding the ostensibly secular principle of the fulfillment of contracts within a faith-based framework. "

"The book not only creates a bridge between the worldly affairs of a man but also the religious and spiritual aspects of the life and hereafter. The clarity of thought, the grasp of knowledge, the in-depth understanding of religion and corporate world, the exposure of being an authority of legal drafting and international contracts, the spiritual relationship of author with the Creator and the originality of ideas are the hallmark of this book."

"The reading of this book makes it evident that the principles and teachings of the Quran have a grasp on every aspect of life, especially in the legal sense. Delving into the idea of covenants, this book explains the concept of covenants and how, as a believer, everything we do falls into that category of establishing covenant. It provides a renewed perspective on the reading of the Quran, especially for lawyers. It is definitely an intriguing read! "

"Quran and holistically Islam lays the basic framework between two individuals, as society and between states. Upholding to contracts and treaties is one of the fundamental principles and teachings of Islam. Which is very pleasantly explained by Mr. ABS."

"Focusing on covenant' as a constitutive principle of international law, founded on the bilateral commitment to peaceful relations between nations and to the rule of law, the author invites the readers to recite the Qur'an as God's covenant with the whole of humankind.
The subject is complex and technical, but the author's reader-friendly style makes the book accessible to everyone interested in the subject. Academies will appreciate the expanded footnotes, which provide citations and references for locating the context of the discourse and are helpful for further reading."

"A path-breaking publication which has added enormously to my uninitiated understanding of the Quranic Covenants. The publication is eminently readable facilitated by a comprehensive table of contents. The range of subjects covered adds to the value of your effort."

"It is an excellent translation done with very high standards. I believe that the public at large would greatly benefit from it. The way you discussed about the Qur’anic Covenants, and called-up upon this topic, itself is a marvellous chronicle which reflects your remarkable endeavours and services. We often forget our covenants with Allah SWT, ..., you presented them in an excellent way. May Allah grant you success in your endeavours."

"A matchless and unique work, nothing short of a Tafseer of Quran in legal terms and constitutional framework. HE Sufi has explained Quran as the book of sacred contracts between Almighty and humans; workable for an individual as well as for the whole human race. What a research and interpretation, ready for its comprehensive application, to change the globe into a worldly paradise!"

"The book presents a fresh approach to Islamic jurisprudence and theology. Emphasising the sanctity of contracts as a foundational aspect of faith in Islam. It suggests that compliance with Shariah and Islamic law is not only enforced through governmental power but is also a personal commitment between the individual and God, upheld voluntarily as an act of faith. The book also holds broader implications for interfaith dialogue, as it explores the shared concept of covenants in Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions."

"Alhamdulillah Mufti sb had the opportunity of going through the entire book. Mufti sb has confirmed that everything is correct and there is nothing in the book that is drastically or extremely wrong in terms of the conclusions reached. Mufti sb has no objections on what has been mentioned or the conclusions that have been arrived at. Everything can be accepted. As for the Qur’an references, there is scope in Usul at-Tafsir for the meanings reached in the book. ان شاء الله this is beneficial."
Mufti Ismail Moosa
Lead Instructor at Ulum Al Hadith, South Africa
"One of the most compelling aspects of the book is its originality. As a university student, I was never exposed to this perspective. Our studies focused on historical developments through Usul al-fiqh and Shariah without considering the Quranic relationship between Allah and believers as a covenant. Soofi's detailed examination of this relationship is thorough and addresses a wide range of issues, including the recognition of all types of contracts, formal or casual, within the Quran."
Saad Mahmud
Student at SAHSOL, LUMS
"This book will play a significant role in simultaneously highlighting the supremacy of state law and the consciousness of Quranic commandments. It's a truly splendid and enjoyable book that can be read with great pleasure."
